The 12 Irish seamstresses behind Shannon Angel Sisters transform the fabric into tiny burial gowns for stillborn babies and clothing for premature infants.
“This may be the only outfit this baby will ever wear so we want it to be something the mom is proud of,” co-founder Alice Myers told InsideEdition.com.
Myers was inspired to start the group after the loss of her 7-year-old son, Jack, in 1998.
"I still remember going to shop for funeral clothes for Jack," Myers said. "It was one of the most painful things in my life."
In April, Myers and longtime friend Michelle Hickey Legge, decided it was time to help other parents in the same situation.
“Our goal is to try and expand this so that no family has to face going into a toy shop to buy baby doll clothes,” Myers said.
The group has since crafted 120 dresses, some of which have been donated to six local hospitals.

Its GoFundMe page has raised about $1,600, inching closer to its mission of 2,000 euros (about $2,279.90). The group plans to spend this money on dressmaking supplies in the coming months.
“It’s about reaching out to other brave parents and lending a helping hand,” Myers said. “We can’t take their grief but we can give them one less thing to worry about.”
