Charlie Sheen has reportedly just checked into a rehab facility as a preventative measure. INSIDE EDITION has the latest.
Charlie Sheen is in rehab!
"As a preventative measure, Charlie Sheen has entered a rehabilitation facility," said his publicist, adding that Sheen will take time off from his series, Two and a Half Men.
The last time Sheen was seen in public, he was leaving a doctor's office in Beverly Hills. Just two weeks ago, Sheen's wife, Brooke Mueller, also checked into rehab. She left on Sunday, after she says the clinic allegedly violated her privacy by leaking information about her. Mueller is now in what's being described as a "private treatment home."
Sheen has reportedly gone to rehab at least twice before for drug and alcohol abuse, but a source tells People magazine that he's not actually using drugs or alcohol now.
"Charlie is stressed. He's tired. The kids are on his mind. Brooke's on his mind. He didn't want to get to a place where he had the urge to get high," said a source to People magazine.
The actor is facing domestic violence charges for allegedly assaulting Mueller and threatening her with a knife during that now-notorious Christmas Day dispute in Aspen. Sheen denies threatening or ever hitting his wife. He's due back in court on March 15th. Earlier this week, the couple's twin boys were visited by child protective services for what was described as a routine followup on the family after the Christmas incident.
