In the hours that followed, an unknown person contacted Whitehead on his cell phone, demanding he “cut a check” for $10,000 if he wanted to see Blitz again, the NFL player said.
He said that when police were unable to help, he took to Instagram, appealing to the dognappers and anyone who may have known where Blitz was being held.
“I strongly advise you to stop and return my boy safely before it gets any worse!” Whitehead wrote before the dog turned up safe.
No arrests have been made.
