Trevor Noah, Sean Hannity Defend Melania Trump After Heels Controversy: 'Cut Her Some Slack!'
"The Daily Show" host was a surprising defender of the first lady on Wednesday's show.
The first lady walked into a storm of controversy when she left Washington Tuesday for flood-ravaged Texas in snakeskin stilettos.
But that night, she was defended by, of all people, Daily Show host Trevor Noah, an outspoken critic of the president.
“Here’s the thing, I don’t know why anyone should care what anyone wears when they’re on their way to help people,” The South African comic said. “Who cares? Look at the pope, you see how he dresses? All white. He looks like he’s going to a P Diddy party. But we don’t say, 'Hey he can’t go out helping people dressed like that.'"
He then said he understood why there was backlash, but then quipped that the first lady may not be living in the most serene of conditions in the White House.

“In Melania’s defense, she lives in a permanent disaster zone, and that’s what she always wears,” he said. "Cut her some slack."
In addition to Noah, Laura Ingraham came to her defense on Fox News Tuesday.
“Melania, for some period of time she wants to wear heels and then she puts sneakers on – big deal! We have a catastrophe in Texas. We are dealing with it the best we can.”
Another Fox News pundit, Sean Hannity, also stood by the first lady, calling the criticism “despicable and disgusting.”
"You people should all be ashamed of yourself," he said.
