Hundreds of troops reunited with their families at a Colorado military base just in time for Veterans Day.
Three hundred Army soldiers returned from their February deployment to Afghanistan and met their families at Fort Carson.
“It’s hard to believe, I left without having a son, now I have a son,” one soldier told KKTV.
Another young boy shed tears as he said he was “proud of” his dad.
“He did a very good thing,” the boy said.
The soldiers were in Afghanistan training and supporting Afghan National Defense and Security Forces to better fight terrorism.
