We're now learning what was in the envelope Governor Jan Brewer of Arizona gave President Obama in that now famous finger-wagging confrontation.
It was a hand written letter which said, "Welcome to Arizona." It also says, "And my offer to visit the border and buy lunch still stands. With respect, Jan."
It was evident when President Obama holding the letter as the Governor makes her point.
And there was yet more fingerpointing from the Governor.
"He wasn't interested in my truth-telling! He was more interested in talking about my book," says Brewer at a press conferance on Thursday.
But the President dismissed the tension on the tarmac in an interview with Diane Sawyer.
"No Republican gets bad publicity from having an argument with me, but this was no big deal," says Obama to Sawyer.
The New York Times reports the White House is secretly pleased and hope the incident will encourage the nation's Hispanic voters to support the President come November.
Meanwhile Newt Gingrich's campaign is complaining that the Romney campaign packed the audience at Thursday night's debate in Florida with Romney supporters.
"They definitely packed the room," a senior Gingrich advisor says.
The latest Quinnipiac University poll shows a big resurgence for Romney, who now leads with 38% to Gingrich's 29%. However, all that could change before Tuesday's primary.
