4-Year-Old Who Had Reportedly Vanished From Bed in Middle of Night Is Found Dead

Police said Darnell did not die of “his own accord."
A 4-year-old boy who was reported missing last week has been found dead, Missouri authorities said.
Darnell Gray was said to have vanished from his bed in the middle of the night on Oct. 25 and police initially believed he had “wandered off.”
However, his body was found Tuesday by a search party, police said. Authorities did not specify where his body was located.
Darnell did not die of “his own accord,” Lt. David Williams of the Jefferson City Police said during a press conference. Further details were not released.
Darnell’s mom had pleaded with the public to help find her son before he was located.
“I’m reaching out to all the people If you please have any information on my son, please come forth. Please, please, please,” said the mother, who has not been identified publicly.
A woman dating Darnell’s father was baby-sitting him at the time of his disappearance while his dad was at work. She told police he went missing from his bedroom, police said.
Police have not identified any suspects in the case.
