Matt Lauer's Big Deal

Big news for Today show as Matt Lauer has renewed his contract and bigger news for Good Morning America as they have beat Today show in the ratings war. INSIDE EDITION has all the details.
Matt Lauer is staying with the Today show.
"This is my family, I love this job. I love working with you guys. Lets keep going," said Lauer.
And he is getting big bucks to stick around. His old salary was said to be $17 million per year. That will increase to a reported $25 million per year, although the president of NBC News denies he's getting that huge paycheck, calling it, "Complete silliness."
Stephen Battaglio Business Editor for TV Guide told INSIDE EDITION, "We hear he signed a four-year deal and that includes a program / development deal. Overall, he can make over $100 million over the term of the contract."
Lauer's new deal was announced by co-host Ann Currie. But it turns out, she may be on the chopping block as part of Lauer's new agreement. Published reports claim that he doesn't want to continue working with her.
"She may have not made the smoothest transition from news reader to anchor, but she is extremley popular with a lot of the Today show fans. So, if they make the move, they have got to be very careful," said Battaglio.
Meanwhile, Katie Couric wrapped up her week-long stint as co-host of Good Morning America and she seemed relieved she does not have to wake up in the early morning hours for work anymore.
