Jessica Simpson's Parents Have Filed for Divorce

The parents of Jessica Simpson are getting divorce court. "Papa Joe," as he's known and Tina Simpson were the brains behind their daughters' careers.

In a statement to People magazine a family representative said, "It is an amicable split and there is no third party involved."

The divorce comes in the wake of a shocking headline in this weeks National Enquirer that declares, "Jessica Simpson’s dad confesses he's gay."

The Enquirer claims the 54-year-old Baptist minister told his daughters, Jessica and Ashley, that he was gay during a family meeting two weeks ago. But in the statement to People magazine, the family rep says, "Any other related allegations are completely false."

Joe Simpson is reportedly worth $20 million dollars. Jessica just gave birth to her first daughter, and is now a pitch woman for Weight Watchers.
