INSIDE EDITION caught up with Ann Romney backstage at the finale of Dancing With the Stars as the celebration kicked into high gear for the new winners.
INSIDE EDITION spotted Ann Romney backstage at the Dancing with the Stars finale!
Turns out, Mitt's wife is a big fan. And, in her first interview since the election, she told INSIDE EDITION it was a family celebration night.
"A huge fan! And it was a surprise. We had my granddaughter come with us. And my daughter-in-law, it was her 40th birthday present," Ann said.
The Romneys are taking a break after the grueling election campaign. Mitt has been seen doing every day chores. Just yesterday he was photographed shopping for Honey Nut Cheerios in San Diego.
Ann Romney sat in the audience and joined in the celebration as Melissa Rycroft and her dancing partner Tony Dovolani were crowned All-Star Season champions.
They beat out General Hospital's Kelly Monaco and Olympic gymnast Shawn Johnson to lift the mirror ball trophy in triumph.
INSIDE EDITION talked to the former star of TV's The Bachelorette backstage.
"Thank you, to the fans. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts. We couldn't have done it without you. This is not just our win. This is our win. All of you are in this. We felt the support all season long. We hope we made you proud, and we got a trophy out of it. We all did," said Rycroft and Dovolani.
Third-placed Kelly Monaco and Val Chmerkovskiy's chemistry really heated up the dance floor, and rumors have been flying all season that they're a couple.
Chmerkovskiy told INSIDE EDITION, "I'm obviously really proud of Kelly. I've said it. I mean obviously I've made it known many, many times how I feel about her."
Val's brother Maksim had a consolation kiss for both.
"See how lucky I am?" Kelly gushed.
And this is one popular vote where Ann Romney was happy with the result.
"They were terrific. I don't know how you could decide. All the three of them were fantastic," said Ann.
