Recap of The 2012 American Country Music Awards

INSIDE EDITION caught up with the stars on the red carpet for the American Country Music Awards.
Country music's biggest stars lit up the red carpet at the American Country Awards in Las Vegas Monday night.
The show started out with a big gag.
Trace Adkins carried his co-host Kristin Chenoweth on stage in a baby sling, highlighting their amazing size difference. He’s a hulking 6'6", and Chenoweth is a petite 4'11".
The crowd loved it when Chenoweth came out dressed as reality TV’s favorite child—Honey Boo Boo.
Carrie Underwood took home the guitar for Female Artist of the Year, beating Taylor Swift and Miranda Lambert.
Male Artist of the Year went to country music's latest sensation, Luke Bryan.
American Idol alumni, Lauren Alaina told INSIDE EDITION she was wearing her lucky charm dress.
“I like this dress, I’ve saved it for a year and I finally am wearing it so hopefully it brings me good luck tonight," she said.
It was one lucky charm that did the trick as she won the award for New Artist of the Year.
