It's was an amazing sight, an entire city of dolphins, an estimated 100,000 of them swimming together off the California coast.
The incredible just-released video was shot from a nature cruise boat off San Diego, captained by Joe Dutra.
Dutra said, “I kept telling myself, I’m not witnessing this. This is way bigger than I’ve ever seen. This cant exist. There’s no way. What a beautiful thing to experience.”
The city of dolphins covered 35 square miles of ocean, about the size of Manhattan.
A month ago, another spectacular mega-pod, but much smaller was spotted off Dana Point, south of Los Angeles, to the delight of tourists on this whale watch.
Dutra said, “It’s just like watching art. But it’s live art.”
