7-Year-Old Sent Flying Through Air by Hit-and-Run Driver
A suspect has been arrested in the case.
It was a terrifying moment when a 7-year-old girl was struck by a hit-and-run driver in California.
In a video of the moment, the child, Hazel Conzet, runs across the street in Santa Rosa with her friends and while the car misses them, it hits her. She flew about 10 feet into the air.
Fortunately, Hazel was able to get up, but the driver then took off. She miraculously only suffered some cuts and bruises after the Saturday incident.
“It hurt her. I think it scared her more than anything,” Hazel’s mom, Candace, said.
Police have since arrested Dominick Weaver, 29, and charged him in the hit-and-run.
Police received several tips about the suspect after they offered a $2,500 reward to anyone with information about the incident. He was located after he posted photos of his 2005 black BMW to social media and cops were able to match it to the scene of accident, they said.
Weaver reportedly admitted he fled the scene, police said.
He has not yet entered a plea.
