Mick Jagger Speaks About L'Wren Scott's Suicide
Mick Jagger is speaking out about his longtime girlfriend fashion designer L'Wren Scott's suicide yesterday as the fashion community mourns her loss. INSIDE EDITION reports.
Mick Jagger is breaking his silence about the tragic suicide of his girlfriend, fashion designer L'Wren Scott.
"I am still struggling to understand how my lover and best friend could end her life in this tragic way," said Jagger.
Jagger said in a tribute posted on his website: "She had great presence and her talent was much admired, not least by me. I will never forget her."
The 49-year-old year was found dead in her luxury Manhattan apartment. The designer texted her assistant to "come by" and when the assistant let herself in, she discovered her boss had hanged herself with a silk scarf tied around the balcony door handle.
The building really is the ultimate in luxury living. There's actually a car elevator that takes your car right to your floor.
L'Wren Scott's three-bedroom apartment on the ninth floor was worth $5.6 million dollars and it was completely paid off.
Scott and Jagger had been together on and off for 13 years—longer than either of his two marriages or many relationships. At six-foot-three, Scott towered over the five-foot-ten rocker. And there was a big age difference. He's 70. She was 49.
Her glamorous lifestyle was a far cry from her humble roots in Utah. She grew up Luann Bambrough, the adopted daughter of a hardware store clerk. At 12 she was already a gangly six-footer. In high school she was voted best dressed.

At 18, Luann moved to Paris and changed her name to the exotic sounding L'Wren Scott. Her long legs helped launch her modelling career.
She went on to build a major fashion label, catering to clients like Nicole Kidman, Oprah, Jennifer Lawrence, Amy Adams and the first lady.
But behind the scenes, her empire was crumbling. Her company was $6 million in debt. Stylist Phillip Bloch told INSIDE EDITION, "You know, it just shows you that all that glitters is not gold."
One report claims that Jagger had recently dumped Scott, but a spokesperson for the rocker said, "This is a complete and utter fabrication."
