The Running of the Bulls has claimed yet another casualty and this time it's a real shocker.
Bill Hillmann, a writer from Chicago, actually co-wrote the book, Fiesta, How to Survive the Bulls of Pamplona. So, you'd think he'd know how to avoid being gored, but that's exactly what has happened.
Hillmann tripped as he ran through the narrow streets of Pamplona, Spain trying to keep ahead of the stampeding beasts. A bull was on him in a flash. The bull's horn impaled his thigh. Medics rushed Hillmann to a local hospital where he underwent surgery. Fortunately, he’s expected to make a full recovery.
So, the guy who literally wrote the book on surviving the Running of the Bulls now knows first-hand what it means to be gored by one and live to tell it.
Since 1924, 15 people have been killed during the Running of the Bulls.
