New Year's Eve Countdown with Ryan Seacrest & Jenny McCarthy
INSIDE EDITION caught up with Ryan Seacrest and Jenny McCarthy in Times Square as they kick off the New Year’s countdown.
Will the party of the year be crashed by protestors?
A flyer circulating on social media asks people to gather at 9 p.m. on New Year’s Eve and then march to Times Square where one million revelers are expected for the world's biggest New Year’s Eve party.
"Rock In The New Year With Resistance To Police Murder" the notice reads, a reference to the recent grand jury decisions in Ferguson and New York.
New Year’s Eve protests are planned for every major city in America including Philadelphia, Chicago, Boston, Houston and Los Angeles.
INSIDE EDITION’s Megan Alexander caught up with Ryan Seacrest and Jenny McCarthy in Times Square as they prepare to host Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve.
Alexander asked, “Are there extra security procedures put in place? Are you aware of extra security this New Year's Eve?"
Seacrest replied, “I think they always do such a good job with security in keeping everything under control. I’m sure they'll do it again this year.”

This year's show is said to be the biggest yet with live performances by Taylor Swift and One Direction.
Alexander asked Seacrest and McCarthy, "Ten years for you [Seacrest], five years for you [McCarthy], is it always exciting and fresh and new?"
Seacrest replied, "It is so exciting! It is the best night of the year to be working to be doing this because of all the electricity and the energy and all of the fun live performances we got."
Of course, not everyone is excited about the forthcoming celebration.
John Oliver, host of HBO’s Last Week Tonight posted a hilarious rant on YouTube saying, “New Year’s Eve is the worst! New Year's Eve is like the death of a pet, you know it's going to happen but you're never really prepared for how truly awful it is.”
And for those of you who want to go to bed early, Netflix has come to the rescue with a video you can use to trick your kids into thinking its midnight with a fake countdown you can start at any time!
