Behind-the-Scenes of Whitney Houston Movie That Has Family Fuming

INSIDE EDITION is behind-the-scenes at the movie that has Whitney Houston's family up in arms.
It's your first look at the new Whitney Houston biopic airing this month on Lifetime.
INSIDE EDITION was behind-the-scenes during the making of the movie.
It's ignited a firestorm of controversy after Whitney's mom, Cissy Houston, spoke out against the biopic saying: "No one connected with this movie knew Whitney or anything about her relationship with Bobby (Brown). Please let her rest."
Up-and-coming actress Yaya Dacosta plays Whitney. INSIDE EDITION caught up with her at the red carpet premiere and she says Whitney's family should give the film a chance.
"I hope that they are able to see the good intentions behind the film and how much we all loved her," said Dacosta.
It's hard to believe the world lost Whitney almost three years ago when she drowned in the bathtub in her suite at the Beverly Hilton hotel.
The coroner said Whitney's long time cocaine abuse contributed to her death.
The movie depicts the singer's epic fights with husband Bobby Brown, and doesn't shy away from Whitney's downhill spiral from drugs.
The movie is actress Angela Bassett's directorial debut. She says she offered to let the family preview the movie, but only Whitney's famous cousin Dionne Warwick took her up on the offer.
Bassett said, "She was their baby. She was their heart. And it's their choice to say yay or nay."
