For all the cat lovers out there this story is for you!
I’m sure you can’t imagine a place with more felines than humans but it exists on Japan’s Aoshima Island. The fishing village has only 22 permanent residents who are outnumbered by over 120 feral cats!
Cat lovers come visit the island and even with tourism, there are still more felines than people because the only way to get there is on a 32 person daily ferry. There are no restaurants, cars, or shops but people keep visiting.
The animals were originally brought to Aoshima to help fisherman deal with mice swarming the fishing boats but the cars kept on multiplying!
