Be careful what you wish for.

Disney just dropped a new trailer for the live-action version of "Aladdin," offering the first glimpse of Will Smith's very blue Genie, and some fans aren't pleased.

Previous photos published by Entertainment Weekly had shown a decidedly not blue Genie, prompting backlash. At the time, Smith responded to tell people that the iconic character, voiced in the animated film by the late Robin Williams, would indeed have the azure hue in the live-action movie.

"I told y'all I was gon' be Blue!!" Smith wrote on Instagram Sunday, after the new trailer debuted. "Y'all need to trust me more often!"

But now there's a new wave of backlash, with some comparing Smith's blue Genie to a Smurf and others calling the CGI creation downright nightmarish.

"Will Smith as the genie looks like what one of those kids from the 90’s Fruit Gushers commercials would look like if they never found a cure for their fruit curse," one person wrote on Twitter.

"Will Smith genie is what appears in my room when I have sleep paralysis," added another.

"Will Smith as #Aladdin's genie makes me want to uninvent CGI," wrote a third.

Where's a magic lamp when you need one? "Aladdin" hits theaters on May 24.
