Baby Giraffe Walks Within 45 Minutes of Being Born
Zookeepers said they will announce the calf’s sex next week.
A stork’s special delivery in the middle of the night came in the form of a baby giraffe, who appeared eager to get moving.
The unnamed calf was born to mom Chrystal last week after a two-and-a-half-hour-long delivery.
But only 45 minutes later, the newborn was already up and walking.
A veterinarian that was monitoring the entire birth said everything went smoothly.
The baby, which was born standing at 5 feet, 9 inches tall and weighing 130 pounds, and its mom will bond behind the scenes before going on display to the public.
Zookeepers said they will announce the calf’s sex next week.
