Miriahm Paloma, 27, has been charged with assault, among other charges, for allegedly stabbing the mom in New York on Monday.

A babysitter allegedly screamed “I don’t work for free” before stabbing the mom of the children she was watching.

Miriahm Paloma, 27, has been charged with assault, among other charges, for allegedly stabbing the mom in her New York apartment on Monday.

The mom, who is also 27, suffered minor injuries and was transported to the hospital, the New York Daily News reported.

The stabbing was allegedly prompted by a payment dispute between Paloma and the mom. Two children, ages 4 and 7, were home at the time and reportedly witnessed the stabbing.

“I didn’t know what to do,” the mother, who did not want to be identified, told CBS News. “I told her to put the knife down, she wouldn’t put the knife down.”

The mother also told the station that Paloma stabbed her in her back twice.

“There was blood all over my apartment and children were running back and forth,” she said.

The mom said she grabbed her kids, who have special needs, and barricaded them in a bedroom in the house.

The victim told the station she found Paloma through a babysitting agency before the attack.

“Obviously this is a very unstable person and the agency that supposed to give support to disabled children does not know how to hire people,” she said.
