Gabriel Diniz, known for 2018's "Jenifer," was just 28.
Brazilian singer Gabriel Diniz has been killed in a plane crash. He was 28.
Diniz was on his way to his girlfriend's birthday party in Maceio, a city in Brazil, when the plane encountered bad weather and went down, according to reports. Diniz and the aircraft's two pilots, Linaldo Xavier and Abraão Farias, both died.
Local media reported that the plane was not licensed for air trips but rather was solely for use in flight training. According to Diniz's father, his son paid for the flight but it's not clear how he ended up on that particular plane.
Diniz was known most for his 2018 hit "Jenifer," which has more than 230 million views on YouTube.
He had most recently performed at a concert in Feira de Santana over the weekend.
On Instagram, Diniz's final post read: “Always a joy to return to Feira de Santana and be greeted with such joy and with so much positive energy, thank you for the kindness guys. A real crowd enjoying our show.
"Until next time, God willing,” he added.
