Busy Mom Turns Around to Find Toddler Dangling From Garage Door
Mom Erica Dilley is reminding people why taking your eyes off your toddler for even a second isn't a good idea.
One Texas mom learned the hard way that you can’t take your eyes off your child for a second.
Erica Dilley from Frisco, Texas, was juggling a lot as she opened her garage door, her two little ones and the family dog in tow. Video shows her putting down 3-year-old Alexandra and then turning to pick up Alexandra's little sister from the waiting stroller.
In a split second, Alexandra grabs hold of the garage door and is pulled up into the air. Dilley turns around and yelps, rushing to grab the 3-year-old, who was dangling about 7 feet off the ground.
“It was one of those heart-in-your-throat moments, it could have ended very differently,” Dilley later told Inside Edition. “I just grabbed her and went inside and called my husband and said, 'You won’t believe what just happened.'"
Dilley said Alexandra didn't know what to think as she held on for dear life.
"It was more like a whimper, kind of like, 'Should I laugh or be scared?' and 'Can someone get me down?'” she said.
Luckily, supermom came to the rescue.
