California Firefighters Rescue Dog Trapped in Backyard of Burning Home
The animal made it out safely.
Remarkable video has captured firefighters rescuing a dog trapped in the backyard of a burning home in California.
The dramatic rescue unfolded Saturday as the Stockton Fire Department responded to a home with smoke billowing out of it.
As they began extinguishing the fire in the home’s backyard, they spotted a dog stuck in a cage.
The dog house and a shed in the backyard were on fire when they arrived and firefighters worked quickly to put out both.
In a video of the moment, a firefighter can be heard saying, “We got a dog out here,” before opening the pup’s cage and carrying the animal out.
The swift action of firefighters most likely saved the dog, the department said.
