Cops Find Babies, 1 and 2, Alone at Motel While Their Parents Were Allegedly Out Drinking and Smoking

Both parents have been charged with felony child endangerment.
California police say they found two young children in a motel alone after their parents had allegedly left them to get drunk and smoke marijuana.
The Lake Elsinore Sheriff’s Station said authorities were called to the motel and when they arrived, they found a 1-year-old child walking alone in the parking lot with just a diaper on.
They investigated further and also said they found a 2-year-old alone in a hotel room with the door ajar. The children are siblings. A photo posted on the sheriff’s Facebook page show an officer comforting one of the babies.
Police said they began searching for the children’s parents, and 30 minutes later, their father, 50-year-old Joseph Salas, showed up.
The kids and their dad were taken to the police station and then the children’s mother, Tamara Ross, arrived after driving to the station, authorities said.
Police said Salas was high on marijuana and Ross was under the influence of alcohol.
The children were put in the care of Child Protective Services.
Salas and Ross were both charged with felony child endangerment. Salas was charged with being under the influence of marijuana in public and Ross was also charged with DUI.
