Newborn Baby Found Abandoned in Dumpster in Texas: Police

A woman had heard the baby crying while taking out her trash in the morning.
A newborn baby, believed to be only a few hours old, was found abandoned in a dumpster in Texas, police said.
Arlington Police Chief Will Johnson tweeted Saturday morning that officers responded that morning to a call about a child in a dumpster.
Police said a woman made the call after discovering the infant while taking out her trash, CBS DFW reported. She had heard the baby crying, according to NBC5.
Officers reportedly performed CPR on the child when they arrived. Johnson said the baby was taken to the hospital, where they are being cared for.
It was not immediately clear how the baby got there or who their parents are.
"I can only imagine maybe what the mother's going through. There's always a reason for something like this, so we're not casting judgment, but we definitely need to figure out who placed this newborn child there," Arlington Police Lt. Chris Cook said, according to NBC5.
Police ask anyone with information on the child to call 911 or send an anonymous tip to Tarrant County Crime Stoppers at 817-469-TIPS.
