Flight Attendant Falls Out of Jetliner While Trying to Close Cabin Door

The flight attendant suffered several injuries after hitting the tarmac.
A flight attendant was seriously injured after she fell out of a plane while trying to shut a cabin door.
The China Eastern Airlines employee fell nine feet onto the tarmac at Shenzhen Bao’an International Airport in Guangdong, according to a statement from the airport.
She suffered several broken bones and was rushed to a nearby hospital.
The aircraft was preparing to leave on a on a flight to Kunming and Tengchong in Yunnan province.
The attendant “accidentally fell on the tarmac from the left rear cabin door when the plane was ready for takeoff,” the airport said. Local reports suggested the woman was trying to close the Boeing 737-800’s door by herself, a task that is usually carried out by two people.
The flight left about two hours late. The airline is investigating.
