Girl, 15, Charged With Murder After Her Baby Is Found in Dumpster: Police

A Philadelphia teenager is accused of leaving her newborn in a dumpster.
A 15-year-old Philadelphia girl, who police say abandoned her newborn in a dumpster, has been charged with murder.
Jani Morris was also charged Wednesday with endangering the welfare of a child, possession of an instrument of crime and abuse of a corpse, according to the Philadelphia Police Department.
Morris will be tried as an adult.
A woman hailed police about 10:30 p.m. Monday, saying an infant had been dumped in a trash bin three blocks away. The woman said the baby had been left there by Morris, who was friends with her daughter, officers said.
The child was rushed to Temple University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Investigators went to the Morris home, and found the girl and her mother inside, police said. The teen is believed to have given birth at the house earlier that evening, according to authorities.
No other details were released by authorities and the investigation is ongoing.
