It's the just-released dash cam video showing the police shooting that is shocking the nation.
You can see a Mercedes being driven by Walter Scott being pulled over by police. It started as a routine stop due to a broken taillight.
Police officer Michael Slager seemed polite and professional. He returned to his car and that's when Scott stepped out of his car. The officer told him to get back in.
Slager said, “Get back in the car!”
But a moment later Walter Scott makes a run for it.
In the video, you don't see the cop give chase, but there sounds like there is a scuffle off-camera.

Feidin Santana, a barber, was walking to work when he came upon the scene. He says he pulled out his cell phone and captured officer Michael Slager firing eight shots at a fleeing Walter Scott.
He told the Today show on Thursday, "I never thought this would happen. There were just the three of us in that moment and I couldn't tell what was going to happen. So, I just wanted him to know that he was not by himself.
The 23-year-old Santana also told Today he was so scared by what he had caught on camera that he considered erasing it.
“I thought about erasing the video and just getting out of the community, Charleston and living someplace else,” he said.
The day after the shooting, Santana says he returned to the scene and saw Walter Scott’s brother, Anthony, who was there to find out what happened. It was then that Santana said something that would make headlines across the country.

Anthony told CBS News, “He came to me and pulled me to the side and said that, ‘They have, I have something that you might like to look at.’”
After officer Slager fired the eight shots, he could be seen turning to look directly at the camera. But even though he apparently knows he is being videoed, he still runs back to retrieve the taser lost in the struggle and appeared to drop it next to Walter’s body, giving rise to suspicions he was trying to plant evidence.
