Teacher Tells Dr. Phil: 'I'm Not a Rapist'

Dr. Phil tells INSIDE EDITION about his sitdown with teacher Jennifer Caswell, who defends herself from allegation she had sex with her student.

Tears rolled down the face of a teacher charged with having sex with her 15-year-old student.

"You're being charged as a rapist," Dr. Phil said to Jennifer Caswell, 29, who told all to Dr. Phil.

She nodded, saying, "And I didn't force anything. I'm not a rapist."

Caswell's relationship with the student started just six weeks after she obtained her teacher's certificate.

Caswell claims she tried in vain to resist the student's advances.

Dr. Phil asked, "How do you feel about the charges that are against you now?"

Caswell said, "I will be a registered sex offender for the rest of my life."

"How do you feel about that?" asked Dr. Phil.

"It's horrible because that's for life. I'm going to be a sex offender forever. I'm not a predator, I'm not a sex offender. I'm not a threat or a danger to anyone." Caswell said.

Dr. Phil told INSIDE EDITION, "I certainly don't think that there is any way that she should be excused from accountability here. But I did see her as a human being. I did get a feel for how much impact this had had on her and what she had learned through everything that's happened here."
