The Florida police officer who played basketball with a group of kids after a complaint they were too noisy has kept his promise to return for a rematch.
And this time he brought backup - in the form of Shaquille O'Neal.
Officer Bobby White was roundly praised after footage showing him playing basketball with kids in Gainesville, Florida was shared online by the police department.
It showed him approaching the group of teenagers on January 15 and telling them he'd received a complaint about their playing.
"You believe someone's calling to complain about kids playing basketball in the street? Do you believe that?" The officer is heard asking one. "I don't know who called, but obviously, I ain't got no problem with it."
As the video shows, he jumps into the game, successfully shooting hoops as he chats with the teens. Other youngsters notice the game and come out to the street to join in.
After the story went viral, former Miami Heat star Shaquille O'Neal decided to pay a visit to the police department and surprise Officer White.
"Are you kidding me?" White asks as O'Neal walks in.
Together they head back to the neighborhood.
"I told you I was going to bring some backup, right? Are you guys ready?" White asks the teenagers in the street.
When O'Neal gets out his car, the flabbergasted kids come out to shake hands and play with the star.
"This is a day those kids will never forget," the department wrote on the video.
"All because Gainesville Police Officer Bobby White decided to handle a complaint like thousands of police officers do daily around the country."
