She stopped by NBC morning show to congratulate her co-host Matt Lauer on his 20th anniversary with the program.

Her appearance came as a report said Megyn Kelly, who's leaving Fox News for NBC, is being groomed to replace Guthrie on the Today show.

"There is a rumor on set that Megyn would eventually get the lead anchor role, pushing Savannah out," the New York Post reported.

But a rep for the Today show flatly denied the report, saying, "no, Megyn is not being 'groomed.'"

Kelly, whose final day with Fox News is Friday, is leaving the network for her own daytime talk show on NBC and a primetime Sunday night news show.

Guthrie has co-hosted Today since 2012.

There's also speculation that Kelly’s new NBC deal means the long-running soap opera Days of Our Lives.

"Several cast members have been told that this upcoming year of the series will likely be its last," a source told People magazine.

The soap debuted in 1965 and the network has apparently decided it’s the end of Days. The network needs to make room for Kelly’s upcoming daytime show.
