Lady Gaga has given the first glimpse of her role in the upcoming remake of A Star Is Born.
In a photo she shared to Instagram, the star sings on stage alongside actor Bradley Cooper while strumming a guitar.
"I am so excited to star in my first movie alongside someone I'm so lucky to call my friend," she said in a caption on the photo. "I always wanted to be an actress on the big screen."
Lady Gaga will go by her real name of Stefani Germanotta in the movie's credits, while Cooper is also the film's director and producer.
Gaga will play Ally, an actress and singer on the rise. Cooper stars as an aging rocker.
She added on Instagram: "The story of ‘A Star Is Born’ is so special and I'm so grateful to Bradley for making my dream come true. Can't wait for you to meet Ally."
Lady Gaga headlined at Coachella in Indio, Calif., Saturday night after Beyonce, who is pregnant with twins, dropped out of the lineup.
She will film scenes for A Star Is Born on the festival grounds Tuesday and Wednesday.
The original version of the film was released in 1937, starring Janet Gaynor and Fredric March. It was remade in 1954 with Judy Garland and again in 1976 with Barbra Streisand.
This latest version is expected to hit theaters in September 2018.
