A Dallas man has been found dead inside a home after opening fire on paramedics, critically injuring one, authorities said.
The unidentified shooter was found by a police robot in an east Dallas home, along with another dead person, Mayor Mike Rawlings said.
The EMT was critically injured and undergoing surgery at a nearby hospital, police said. He was hit while treating a gunshot victim, police said.
Investigators responded to the east Dallas neighborhood, where they went door-to-door Monday afternoon while looking for the man suspected in both shootings.
Police described him as being a bald man wearing jeans and a dark green shirt, possibly limping and armed with a rifle.
Residents were warned to stay inside their homes, CBS affiliate KTVT-TV reported.
