A Georgia mother was charged in the death of her baby, who suffocated in a hot car while her mom was getting her hair done, authorities said.

Dijanelle Fowler, 25, left her 1-year-old daughter in a running car while she went to the Tucker salon at about 10 a.m., but at some point while she was away, the car cut off, a warrant obtained by WSB-TV said.

Fowler returned to the car after six hours away — around 4 p.m. — to find the baby had suffocated in the car, investigators said.

But instead of calling 911, Fowler allegedly called someone to give her car a jumpstart.

The man who jumped the car was likely unable to see the baby’s body in the backseat because “lots of clothes” were there to cover her, the warrant said.

Fowler drove to Emory Hospital, where she reportedly made a 911 call to report a “medical emergency” at about 5 p.m.

She had texted the baby’s godfather saying she was going to Urgent Care for a headache, and had used Google to search “seizure symptoms” before parking in the hospital deck.

Emergency responders who arrived after Fowler called 911 found her baby dead in the back seat.

The medical examiner’s office believed the child had been dead for “some period of time,” the warrant said.

Fowler was taken to the hospital and released after being treated for seizure-like symptoms, the warrant said.

She never explained her baby's death, investigators said.

Fowler turned herself in to the DeKalb County jail late Monday.

She was charged with second-degree murder, concealing death and second-degree cruelty to children.
