An Arizona dog shelter hosted a prom for their senior pups to prove that no animal is too old to be treated like a king or queen.
Dogs aged 7 years or older at the Maricopa County Animal Care and Control in Phoenix were dressed in tutus, tiaras and ties as they socialized with potential adopters at the shelter’s “Happily Ever After”-themed prom.
The best-dressed pups were even invited to strut down a catwalk to compete for the title of prom king or queen.
And although the event had gone to the dogs, people were invited to join in on the fun, whether they were interested in adopting or just taking pictures.
“We want our senior males and females to be ‘Happily Ever After’ in their new ‘fur’-ever home,” the Maricopa County Animal Care and Control wrote on their Facebook.
At the end of the night, the shelter announced the prom was a success after nine dogs were adopted into loving homes.
One of the adopted pups includes 7-year-old Minnie Moo, who already has an Instagram page up and running since going to her forever home on prom night.
Opal, a 7-year-old rat terrier mix with a nub tail, was adopted the following day after a family met her at prom.
