2 Men Charged After 9-Month-Old Boy Killed in Drive-By Shooting: Cops

Shaquille Chamberlain, 18, and 20-year-old John Brown III, were taken into custody this week.

Two young men have been charged in the death of a Mississippi infant who cops say was shot dead in a drive-by shooting on Tuesday.

Grenada Assistant Police Chief George Douglas confirmed to CBS News that multiple shots were fired from a passing car at about 1:40 p.m. Tuesday, including at least one that entered the home of 9-month-old Rashan Riley.

Rashan was struck in the head.

"The shooting took place on the outside of the house, and to my knowledge of the preliminary investigation, no one inside the house was connected to that confrontation," Douglas said.

A description of a car seen near the shooting was given to police, who stopped a vehicle matching its description on Tuesday.

Two men in the car, 18-year-old Shaquille Chamberlain and 20-year-old John Brown III, were taken into custody.

Police say no one inside the residence was involved in any sort of confrontation with the suspects.

They have since been charged with murder and remain held at Grenada County Jail, where no bond has been set.
