"You may hear I was in a little accident on stage tonight...but I’m fine," the 71-year-old actress tweeted.

You may hear I was in a little accident on stage tonight; two set pieces collided, I had to make a run for it, and I fell. But I'm fine.

It happened Thursday at the Shubert Theater, where Hello, Dolly! has been playing to sold out crowds. Right before intermission, Midler was standing on the revolving set when it collided with another part of the stage and she fell.

Stagehands who were waiting in the wings rushed in and helped her to her feet.

"Bette Midler was out there killing it and we were hoping the set didn't killer her," Frank Noranti, who was in the audience at the time, told Inside Edition. "The set was rotating to set up for the next scene and down came this scrim and basically T-boned the prior set.

"We looked over and saw Bette Midler was essentially doing a moving header off the side of the stage."

Midler was escorted off the stage but returned about 15 minutes later to finish the show.

Noranti said she was "better than ever" when she came back.
