Ariel Winter's Mom Claims 'Modern Family' Star Lies About Her Because 'She Wants the Headlines'

Crystal Workman says the stories her daughter is telling about her are "heartbreaking."

After Ariel Winter launched a blistering attack on her own mother with claims she forced her to wear revealing clothes as a child, the estranged mom is firing back.

Crystal Workman told Inside Edition that her daughter is making up lies for attention.

“She continues to attack me," the distraught mother said. "It's heartbreaking.”

Winter told The Hollywood Reporter that she was dressed in “the smallest miniskirts, sailor suits, low-cut things, the shortest dresses you've ever seen," as early as age 7.

Workman says she did not dress her daughter in inappropriate clothing.

“I don't know what she is talking about," Workman said. "I really don't."

A young Winter once wore a gold mini-dress and heels to a premiere.

Her mother said that she believed it was a fine outfit for a 10-year-old because “she’s one of the stars of the premiere. She is wearing a dress that’s adorable. You don't see any parts of her body except her cute little legs.”

Workman provided photos which she says prove her daughter wore appropriate outfits as a child.

Workman also addressed another claim by the Modern Family star.

“When I was 12.... If there was going to be a nude scene when I was that age, my mother would have a thousand percent said yes," Winter told The Hollywood Reporter.

Workman says she would “absolutely not” have allowed her daughter to do a nude scene, “not in a million years.”

“Not only that her hypothetical situation is just thinking like something I would do — first of all, no studio would,” she added.

The Modern Family actress recently has come under fire for a slew of revealing photos that she's posted online.

“Some people would say she dresses in such a revealing way now because she was taught to do so as a young child,” Inside Edition asked Workman.

“That’s ridiculous," the mother replied. "She's just lying."

Winter also told The Hollywood Reporter that her mom subjected her to a limited diet, calling it "very, very restricted.”

Her former teacher, Sharon Sacks even joined Winter for the interview and claimed: "I would order a couple lunches in my name so Ariel could eat one of them. I could tell she was hungry."

Workman denies those claims as well, adding: “The only dietary reaction was dairy. We found out as infant, she was 2 weeks old, she was very allergic to dairy.”

Workman’s relationship with her daughter has been strained for years. When Winter was 14, she took her mom to court and accused her of physical and emotional abuse, which Workman has repeatedly denied.

As a result of the legal battle, Winter’s sister gained legal guardianship.

Workman says the actress' inflammatory comments about her are reigniting the feud between them.

“I think she wants the headlines, I think she craves the attention and it if it means throwing your mother under the bus and breaking her heart, she's going to do it," she said.
