"What were you thinking?" asked INSIDE EDITION's Paul Boyd.
"I thought it would come off as a funny stunt. No one got hurt, everyone would just have a good laugh, and it would blow over," said Jace Lankow.
Lankow, a senior at the University of Arizona, dressed as a referee and ran onto the field as Arizona played UCLA. He stripped to his speedo and took off running before being tackled by security. Now he faces expulsion. But he's not exactly apologizing today.
"I did this stunt because I wanted a unique, memorable experience from college," said Lankow.
"You did disrupt the game, you did cause law enforcement to chase you around that field. Yeah, no one was hurt by it, but I mean this was a disruption." asked Boyd.
"I know what I did, but I'm sorry to those people who don't see it as just a harmless stunt," said Lankow.
The 23-year-old was arrested and charged with felony impersonation of a referee. He spent the night in jail and now his goofy stunt could earn him a criminal record.
"If you could go back and do this all over again would you ever have run onto that football field?" asked Boyd
"Oh yeah, definitely, no regrets! That's just how I live my life. But now that I'm faced with all of this, I really think I would think long and hard about exactly what I'm getting myself into," said Lankow.
