High Schooler Grossed Out by Lunch of Congealed Cheese, Hot Dog Bun and Marinara Sauce
The Minnesota teen said she wanted to see change.
Whoever heard of a high school lunch going viral?
Minnesota high school student Maryn Holler posted photos of her sad lunch tray to Facebook. They showed a small handful of baby carrots, a cup of marinara sauce, and a hot dog bun topped with congealed cheese.
The post got quite the reactions.
"Pathetic excuse for a lunch," one comment read.
"The school should be ashamed," read another.
When asked if she ate her lunch, Maryn told Inside Edition, "No. No, I threw it away. I didn't understand how a school could serve that to students and think that it's OK."
After voicing her concerns, the St. Cloud, Minessota, school district responded, saying, "Oops! We goofed. Tried a new menu item today at lunch and we hear it was not a winner! Going forward, we will gather input from our students on new menu options. Thanks for the feedback!"
So what was on her school's lunch trays afterward? Ham and cheese sandwiches, fruit, vegetables, pizza and chicken sandwiches.
"I'm extremely proud of my girl. She loves her school," Maryn's mom, Dawn, said.
