How the 'Amazon Nightgown' Dress Became a Thing
Brooklyn blogger Grace Atwood first coined the hashtag that catapulted the dress to fame.
It's a deal you won't want to sleep on.
A $30 dress that resembles a long, flowy nightgown has caught the attention of women across the country.
The R.Vivimos dress, which is available on Amazon, became a viral hit after Brooklyn-based blogger Grace Atwood wrote about it on her website. "Best $30 purchase ever!" she wrote.
"Initially I was wearing it mostly around the house," Atwood told Inside Edition. "I wore it in Mexico as a beach cover-up, and then I realized it was pretty cute with heels and a cute purse."
After the blog post, followers started sending her photos of themselves in the dress. She encouraged them to share the images on Instagram with the hashtag #amazonnightgown.
The dress comes in 12 different colors and patterns, and it's selling out.
But the question remains: Is it a dress or a nightgown?
"It's not a nightgown," Atwood insisted. "It's an actual dress that just looks like a nightgown!"
