Is Meghan Markle Jinxing Serena Williams' Matches?

The duchess has supported her friend from the stands three times, and each time the tennis player lost.

Is Meghan Markle a jinx?

That's what some tennis fans are saying after her friend Serena Williams lost to 19-year-old sensation Bianca Andreescu Saturday at the U.S. Open. It's the third time the duchess has watched Williams go down in defeat from the stands.

But Williams' upset was just one part of a whirlwind weekend for Meghan.

Just hours after Meghan landed in New York on Friday, she headed to a yoga studio in the West Village. The duchess took a hot yoga class with 60 men and women.

Later in the day, she attended a surprise birthday celebration for makeup artist Daniel Martin, which featured an assortment of cupcakes from New York City staple Magnolia.

“Meg, love you friend for surprising me on my special day," Martin posted on Instagram.

It is believed the duchess stayed in the lower Manhattan home of her close friend designer Misha Nonoo.
