The next generation is swiftly learning how to gain internet fame.
With some kids making millions on YouTube, there is now a YouTube camp that teaches kids the skills needed to make it big.
The camp, started by iD Tech, teaches kids not only how to create videos —shooting, editing, and posting them — but also life skills.
“How to work together in a team and how to collaborate and understand how to give and receive feedback and present themselves,” Jami Smith, director of operations at the camp, said. “So this is going to help them in their next stage of life.”
A recent survey showed that 29% of children want to be a YouTuber or vlogger when they grow up. With the rise of popular child YouTube stars like Ryan Kaji of “Ryan ToysReview,” who made $22 million in 2017, it’s no wonder
The iD Tech retreat is just one of many of its kind.
The company offers tech programs in 150 locations across the world.
“I guess my main goal is to gain a pretty big follower/subscriber base, hopefully maybe make a little money off of it,” Julien, who attends a camp, told CBS News.
