Look Out Below! Plane's Harrowing Crash Caught on Police Dashcam Video
The plane can be seen flying low and swaying before clipping a tree and crashing on the roadway.
Motorists got the fright of their lives over the weekend as a plane crash-landed on a Florida road.
The terrifying moment was caught on two police dash cams Sunday morning as the small Rockwell Commander 112 aircraft crashed on Keene Road in Clearwater.
The plane can be seen flying low and swaying before clipping a tree and crashing on the roadway and skidding to the side of the road.
“There's a plane that just crashed on Keene,” a 911 caller can be heard telling a dispatcher. “Again, a plane just came down.”
Miraculously, the pilot and his passenger were not injured in the crash, which closed the roadway for several hours.
The pilot, who was identified by local reports as Marc Allen Benedict of Clearwater, told investigators he was having engine trouble and was searching for a safe place to land.
