Maryland Woman Goes to the Store for Cabbage, Leaves $225,000 Richer After Winning Lottery

Her dad had asked her to pick the vegetable up.
A quick store run for some cabbage turned out to be totally worth it for a Maryland woman.
Vanessa Ward said her father recently asked her to buy some cabbage from a nearby store in Virginia. While there, she decided to grab a Win a Spin scratch-off ticket, she told Virginia Lottery officials.
Her decision paid off when the ticket earned her the chance to spin the wheel at Virginia Lottery headquarters — the top prize.
After the spin, she won $225,000.
She plans to save the money and may head to Disney World, she said.
