Baristas Learn Sign Language to Communicate with Hard of Hearing Customers

When the pandemic hit, in came the masks and out went lip-reading. For hard of hearing customers, communication got that much tougher. However, a group of coffee shop owners in Kansas City, Missouri came up with an idea to remedy that and make sure everyone can effectively communicate. With the help of a local ASL teacher, it looks like many area baristas are well on their way to picking up a second or third language. Inside Edition Digital’s Stephanie Officer has the details.
