Exploding Mannequins Show the Need for Fireworks Safety

A new report from the UC Consumer Product Safety Commission says fireworks-related injuries are on the rise. The CPSC’s chairman, Alex Hoehn-Saric, said, ‘Last year there were at least 11 deaths and an estimated over 10,000 trips to the emergency room related to fireworks.’ The Department of Homeland Security recommends standing at least 150 feet away from aerial fireworks, and soaking unused fireworks in water before discarding.
