What’s Inside ‘World’s Oldest Egg’

John Amalfitano is the current owner of what’s believed to be one of the oldest eggs in the world. Seventy-two years ago, a teenage farm girl wrote “Miss Mary Foss Forest City Iowa” on an egg. The signed egg was put in a carton with 11 other eggs and was put on a truck to New York City. Struck by the inscription, the guy who bought the eggs never ate it. He saved it for almost five decades until he gifted it to Amalfitano. Now, the 92-year-old woman is amazed her egg still lives on.
