Maryland Company Uses Storm-Toppled Trees to Create Furniture

Storm debris can become carbon neutral furniture. A Maryland company, Cambium Carbon, aims to save trees from the dump. The debris left behind by severe storms is picked up by the Cambium Carbon crew and taken back to their sawmill. Collecting fallen trees started as a side hustle for 2 friends, and now they’re partnering with cities, architects, and businesses nationwide. This company only works with fallen trees and debris, not healthy trees that have been purposely cut down.
